Project Summary
Provide skills training and income opportunities for less fortunate parents
Project Description
The Kimchi Factory Initiative aims to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for less fortunate and unemployed parents in Barangay Greater Lagro. By teaching them the skills to produce, package, and market kimchi and other fermented products, the project empowers families to generate income, improve food security, and build community resilience.
- Training & Capacity Building: Conduct workshops on food safety, kimchi preparation, packaging, branding, and small business management.
- Production Facility: Establish a shared community kitchen or small-scale factory equipped with fermentation jars, refrigerators, and packaging tools.
- Market Development: Link beneficiaries to local markets, schools, restaurants, and online platforms. Rotary networks will be tapped for sponsorships and bulk orders.
- Sustainability Model: Operate as a cooperative, where parents share responsibilities and profits. Over time, expand to other fermented products such as pickled vegetables and sauces.
